All my friends know that I love Halloween! Really, what’s not to like? Candy, dressing up, scary movies the week before Halloween, and having fun walking around the neighborhood with friends (did I say candy???) – it’s all there!
I tried to find Rachel’s first costume with no luck 🙁 It was an adorable little princess costume that I bought for her “first
Halloween”. Of course I purchased a few days before the big day, but it was cute. I didn’t take her trick-or-treating because (1) we were returning from a meeting in Boston on Halloween (2) she was 9 months old and babies can’t eat snickers bars.
Anyway, Halloween was extra fun this year, because I got to dress up two little dolls instead of one! Since I couldn’t find the little princess dress, I went shopping for Sarah – this time ONE DAY BEFORE HALLOWEEN! Luckily, the
party shops around us do Halloween up big time, and they carried lots of babycostumes. I know it sounds silly… I had resolved not to stress out if I couldn’t find anything, but was willing to try. I managed to find a cute little lamb costume. It was perfect for little Sarah Amelia!
Rachel’s costume was really straight forward. I simply told her that she must choose from something that was already in
our house. I agreed to buy accessories as needed but no big expense on costumes. This may sound harsh, but she has tons of dress up stuff, and a lot those things were pricy gifts from the grandparents. She picked the lovely Cinderella dress that her Nanna bought her at Disneyworld. I agreed to let her wear makeup, so all was well.
Trick-or-treating was fun – of course! Sarah Amelia was very chill in her stroller. We found a bunch of neighborhood girls to cruise the neighborhood and had lots of fun! Bryan stayed at the house and handed out candy. I think that the girls and I had more fun than he did!
There are a few really cool houses that play scary music and the adults dress up. One house a block away plays scary movie music – Halloween sound track in heavy rotation and the dad dresses up and has a chain saw!!!! He doesn’t scare the little kids, which is really nice. Rachel has always been very brave trick-or-treating there! (of course, because she is cool like that!). This year, her and her little friends, “wanted to be scared”, so the dad put on a show!! We probably spent the last 15 min at that house “getting scared”…
Sounds like a fun nite. Love the pictures. Rachels dress was about too pretty for Halloween and Sarah Amelia’s lamb oufit was so sweet. In the first picturesthought Rachel was Sarah Amelia at first glance .
Too, too cute! Thanks, Ruth, for sharing. Halloween is a big thing here in Louisville, as well, and our JLB (unlike her mother) LOVES Halloween…JLB was Tinker Belle again and went around their neighborhood this year with her mom and she loved it! (We had such bad weather on the actual Halloween night that no one TorTed. Most neighborhoods had TorT on Friday of that week. Loved the costumes for Sarah and Rachel…looks like you guys had a good time! Love!
They are too cute! Love the pics and it looks like they had an awesome Halloween!
