{"id":1407,"date":"2016-08-05T02:15:51","date_gmt":"2016-08-05T06:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/?p=1407"},"modified":"2016-08-05T02:15:51","modified_gmt":"2016-08-05T06:15:51","slug":"sweet-child-of-mine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/?p=1407","title":{"rendered":"Sweet Child Of Mine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a long time since I have posted a blog, so there is a bit of catching up to do. \u00a0The last time I posted a &#8220;Miriam-centric&#8221; blog, she was starting to sit-up and babble. \u00a0She has progressed from\u00a0crawling to pulling-up on furniture and is currently taking steps with support. \u00a0She has not taken those sweet first independent steps, but she is getting close. \u00a0She also likes crawling up the steps, which has resulted in the return of the lovely &#8220;Bryan engineered stair-gate 2014\/2016&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8211; in just the blink of an eye, my sweet child has progressed from a totally helpless newborn into an energetic and bubbly toddler. \u00a0Sigh &#8230;.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1270\" style=\"width: 306px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/22-FR5A1524.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1270\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/22-FR5A1524-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Our sweet little Miriam Aoife\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/22-FR5A1524-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/22-FR5A1524-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1270\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Our sweet little Miriam Aoife<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>In just a few short hours, my youngest will be 1 year old! \u00a0I know it&#8217;s cliche, but it really does seem like just yesterday that she was born. \u00a0Really, I just don&#8217;t know where the time goes. \u00a0When she was a sweet little newborn and sleep schedules were tossed into chaos, I knew that one day we would look back with sweet fondness on those times. \u00a0I must say, I love getting a solid 7 hours of sleep. \u00a0So yes, I occasionally remember those\u00a03 am feedings that Miriam and I shared with just a little bittersweet sadness, but I quickly remind myself how nutty I get without sleep.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1418\" style=\"width: 231px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_1692.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1418\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1418\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_1692-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Our sweetie found the Easter Bunny\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_1692-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_1692-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1418\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Our sweetie found the Easter Bunny<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1420\" style=\"width: 231px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myhusbandandkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_1760-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1420\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1420\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/_d_improd_\/IMG_1760-1-225x300_f_improf_225x300.jpg\" alt=\"I think she is laughing at me for beginning the Harvard propaganda so early ...\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1420\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>I\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><strong>think she is laughing at me for beginning the Harvard propaganda so early &#8230;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p>It isn&#8217;t too often that I am at a loss for words, but it&#8217;s hard to describe\u00a0how much love we have for our little girls. \u00a0Despite these indescribable lovely feelings, there can also be lots of \u00a0worry\/anxiety that can stifle the joy of parenting. \u00a0\u00a0Fortunately for Miriam, I am either too exhausted to care or have learned the hard way that &#8220;sweating the small stuff&#8221; is a waste of time, energy, and sanity. \u00a0Oh, who am I kidding &#8211; of course I worry?!?!?! \u00a0Who knows, maybe she will be disgruntled because she has &#8220;last kid syndrome&#8221;\u00a0OR maybe she won&#8217;t care? \u00a0Maybe, if I am lucky, she will know that her old and exhausted mommy and daddy gave\u00a0it their best shot? \u00a0Currently, she seems happy and well-adjusted &#8211; just look at these adorable photos and videos!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Heck, Bryan and I are\u00a0skipping a Guns-N-Roses concert (their first tour in a zillion years) in order to spend the evening with the girls on Miriam&#8217;s official birthday. \u00a0Talk about parental sacrifice&#8230; \u00a0We are going to have a little party for her this weekend, so if I am not too busy (or napping as a result of my post-party crash) I will post pictures! \u00a0In the meantime, I have some video that has been sitting on my phone for a while. \u00a0There are several videos so scroll until the end!<\/p>\n<p>This is video of Miriam crawling (taken sometime in June). \u00a0You can hear Sarah tell me a story about a frog, which is followed by Bryan&#8217;s sneeze scaring Miriam.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ldvIMqWwzV8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The next video is a cute video shot one Saturday morning (sometime in April\/May). \u00a0Miriam is trying to steal Sarah&#8217;s pacifier. \u00a0Yes, Sarah sneaks her pacifiers out of the cabinet. \u00a0She only suppose to use\u00a0them for bedtime at home. \u00a0I think it&#8217;s way past time for the pacifiers to officially go bye-bye.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0NRKSFI4vnE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Here is video of Miriam starting to walk with support. \u00a0This was taken a month or so ago. \u00a0Don&#8217;t judge the messy living room. \u00a0Well, go ahead if it makes you feel better &#8211; LOL!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vF0g20e_Pmc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>OK &#8211; I think this is the best video. First &#8211; some backstory. \u00a0When Sarah was a baby Dad fixed Rachel&#8217;s old Tickle Me Elmo, but Sarah\u00a0was terrified of poor Elmo!
