De doo doo de da da da

Recently, I came across an article about misheard pop song lyrics.  I was surprised to read that “Goo Goo Goo Gaa Gaa Gaa” by the Police was actually “De do do de da da da”.  Rather than singing about being reduced to baby talk when near his latest attraction (well, that was my interpretation),  the Police frontman Sting intended the song to be about people’s attraction to simplicity and thoughtless/boring lyrics.  Anyway, in the current political climate of name calling and the reduction of every talking point to the lowest common denominator, I think “de do do do de da da da” is very relevant to the communication styles of 2016.

As a reprieve from the mindless and hateful rhetoric that I see daily on the internet, I decided to post an update on my cute little Miriam.  I thought that I had posted video of Miriam doing cute little stuff (babbling, rolling over, laughing, first time eating baby food, etc…).  As it turns out, I had lots of video but hadn’t written the blog.  It’s hard to believe that she is almost 7.5 months old!  WOW!  I wish that time would slow down just a little!  I have lots of territory to make up, because she has grown a lot since my last Miriam update.

Here is Miriam being super cute when she was about 4 months old.  I was taking pictures of her, because she was wearing a little outfit from  Aunt Margaret.  While taking pictures, Miriam started babbling and being super cute, so of course I switched my fancy phone from photo to video mode!

This post is from late February, and my mother and father-in-law were visiting.  I was talking with Pete and Hannah, so I apologize for my voice in the video.  Miriam is super cute sitting up like a big girl, so I thought it was worth posting 🙂  She was about 6 months old in this video.

In the video below, I asked Miriam whether she  was a Democrat or Republican.  See the adorable video below (sorry for the background tv noise).  She makes a lot of de do do do de da da da sounds!

So, there you have it – my contribution of sweetness to the world today!

Sweet Miriam, about 7 months old. She is wearing one of Sarah's old dresses :)You’re Welcome.
