This blog will take a turn for the extremely gooey and over-the-top….
I just realized that Sarah Amelia is almost 6 months old (technically speaking she is 22 weeks old), and it really seems like yesterday that she was born. Her babyhood is going by so quickly. Little Sarah was just dropped into the whirlwind that is life in our little household, and she just goes along perfectly. I know it is bragging, but she is truly a little sweetheart – let me emphasize sweetheart.
Unless we are at a baseball game or some other place that is extremely noisy, she just happily goes with the flow. It is amazing how my two girls look so much alike, yet have such distinct personalities! Rachel was a screamer (unless she was held by me), but Sarah is more passive. Rachel never slept through the night, yet Sarah started sleeping long stretches around 4 weeks! The list could go on…
Sarah now does a little more than just look cute and sleep… The other day, Rachel was rolling a ball to Sarah. Sarah was holding onto the ball and wouldn’t let go, despite Rachel trying to tease it from her hands. Then all of a sudden, Sarah Amelia let out a squeal/grunt and curled up her nose in a look of consternation! It was so funny – the girls had their first “spat”! I guess Sarah might be tougher than I figured.
Anyway, we started giving the baby rice cereal on Saturday. Bryan held the baby and Rachel
Sarah Amelia first solids fed the cereal to Sarah. It was so sweet! We had saved Rachel’s highchair, but unfortunately one of the legs was broken. I guess we will have to break down and get a new one 🙂
Today we went to Red Lobster after church, and it was so funny to watch Sarah’s face while we ate. You could see the look of – “hey wait, where’s my food”. I am not sure how much longer she might be satisfied with baby cereal!
I told you this blog would be mushy!
